Blue Painted Ceilings

After seeing Meghan's amazing painted turquoise floor last week, I was determined to paint the floor in my new porch too. Now of course, after doing this post, I'm convinced the ceiling needs to be painted too. Maybe in EVERY room! Ha! As you can see from above, it's not just for front porches anymore. (Do you know why the paint of choice for many porches across the country is blue? Read about it here.) No matter the room, I adore the way it looks. So now I need to know...have any of you kicked it up a notch and painted your ceiling something other than white?? Blue perhaps?? ;) Have a great weekend everyone!

Sally Denning

I just love this photo and the peek into the bedroom styled by Sally Denning, former Style Director of Ideal Home magazine. Boy do those colors pop on that all-white canvas. I wish I could fill my home with white floors like this. I'm sure it would look this clean...um...try never, due to the dog. But I can dream! Love the b&w cat too...that's my kind of styling!

Caldwell Flake

Blueprint Bliss and Room Remix have both recently featured some of the stunning work of Lisa Flake and Mary Ruth Caldwell, the mother/daughter team of of Caldwell Flake. However there is nothing like a tour of their portfolio. So many bold vibrant rooms, so many soothing neutral spaces, ALL completely droolworthy. Part of their philosophy is to compose visual anecdotes that are all at once classic, curious and calming, which is definitely apparent in these examples. Do head over to their site though, you won't be sorry!

Valerie Onor

I first learned of interior designer Valerie Onor in Schumacher's blog where they featured her work in the Mansions and Millionaires showhouse which earned her the title of "Designer of the Year 2009". I was immediately hooked, and went on to her website only to discover it filled with my favorite color. (Not just these gorgeous rooms, but her actual site too!) It's obvious going through her portfolio that she loves color, and classic designs that combine beautiful fabrics, artwork and furnishings. All so elegant, but comfortable at the same time. Definitely head over to her site next for more fabulous images!

Seafoam Hideaway

Straight from the Hamptons, this home featured in September's issue of Traditional Home sure is beautiful. Designed by Ken Gemes and photographed by Tria Giovan, it was the cozy bedroom filled with seafoam (Woodland White by Benjamin Moore) that caught my eye. I love the hand-blocked fabric on the draperies and shams from TylerGraphic, and the aqua upholstered chair and ottoman. The little window seat is so cute too!
