Colorful Victorian Home

One of my favorite homes from October's issue of 25 Beautiful Homes was this colorful Victorian in York photographed by Jeremy Phillips. That hand-glazed tile in the kitchen is incredible, it really swings the bland scale way over in the other direction. And the guest bedroom...so much to love there. You already know how I live for canopy beds, but throw in some bold turquoise wallpaper and I'm a total goner. I'm loving the fabric on the chair, pillows and valance too. Pampered guests, I'd say!

Turquoise & Orange with Tobi Fairley

Gosh you guys, thank you all so much for the kind birthday wishes!! Your comments just made my day. I had a great weekend celebrating, and still have more left to do this week! I love stretching out my birthday! :)

When I first saw these rooms designed by the always-inspiring Tobi Fairley in Traditional Home, it felt nothing short of a fabulous early birthday gift. Photographed by Nancy Nolan, this bedroom and sunroom were part of an eco-friendly charity showhouse in Arkansas. While Tobi has never been shy to pair turquoise with orange, I'm just loving how vibrant and cheery it is here. It's awesome to know she used a mix of new and recycled furnishings (behold the magic of low-VOC paints!) and organic fabrics. I've been drooling over that aqua Rubie Green fabric forever, it's just perfect here on the sofa and draperies! To read all about the rooms, head over here!

Cozy in Connecticut

This Noroton Harbor home in Connecticut featured in the fall issue of New England Home was designed by Nancé J. Vigneau and photographed by Laura Moss. The bedroom is so cozy and serene...I want to snuggle up in that bed and stare off at the pretty blue ceiling! The dining room is beautiful too, love those star light fixtures! Tara Seawright

There's so much to love in this cheery Shelter Island home designed by Manhattan-based interior designer Tara Seawright and featured in Hamptons Cottages and Gardens. The serene and beachy color palette of the master bedroom is just perfect. How about the peacock blue library just off of it with the comfy sectional...what an escape! And did you spot the leather hippo footstool in the study?! Parents rest their feet or kids take a little ride...I love it!

That's it, I'm moving in! I love every little inch of this home from the portfolio of LA-based interior designer Alexandra Rae, whose work was recently featured on The Green Door. Dark hardwood floors paired with white and aqua always leave me weak at the knees! Just don't get me started on all the slipcovers, stunning lighting, and the prettiest light-filled bathroom ever!! Mabley Handler Interior Design

Like so many of you, I love everything that Mabley Handler Interior Design touches. This beach-side Amagansett home featured in Hamptons Cottages & Gardens certainly is no exception. The clients wanted a sophisticated beach house, with a cool color palette reminiscent of the ocean and sandy beaches on a misty day. The serene pale oyster gray with a hint of blue is brought to life with texture and depth in such a beautiful way with all the accessories. (Oh my goodness, those chandeliers!)
